Waimea Horses
A 12 x 16 inch acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, this painting was begun on location near the War Memorial in Waimea, and finished in the studio after multiple visits.
The horses frequently can be found sheltering under the eucalyptus trees at this spot. I began the painting shortly before much needed cataract surgery curtailed my painting activity. Finished three months later, this is one of several transitional paintings that straddle what was a significant event in the life of an artist.
